Jorge Lorenzo has signed a new contract with the Yamaha team today and will once again ride alongside Valentino Rossi in the 2010 season of MotoGP.

For months the rumours have been doing the rounds, first he was joining Honda and then the Ducati team, but now the speculation can end, he has a new one-year contract to remain with Yamaha.

Lorenzo said;

“I am very happy!  Today is a good day because I have decided to remain with the Yamaha Factory Team in 2010. It was a very important decision and that’s why I have had to take the last few weeks to make it, but I think that this is the best decision for me in this moment. I want to thank Yamaha because they have always done everything that they have promised, and I especially would like to say thank you to Lin Jarvis and Masao Furusawa.”

The 22-year-old Spanish rider is always exciting to watch and can only get better racing alongside Rossi, although it still would have been nice to see a bit of a shake up for next season.
