The Carole Nash International Motorcycle and Scooter Show will open it’s doors to the public at the Birmingham NEC on Friday 28th November. The show will run until December 7th and as well as the latest machinery and equipment being exhibited, the organisers have also managed to gather a fair number of top riders from all classes of motorcycle racing who will appear at the event over the course of the week or so.
Among the star studded line up of riders set to appear at the show, are a substantial number of past and present Moto GPriders. Perhaps top billing will go to James Toseland, the moto GP rider and ‘acclaimed’ musician will perform with his band Crash on the back of a promotional Yamaha truck on Saturday 29th November and again on the 6th and 7th December.
Just in case you miss those dates Toseland will be performing solo appearances on his piano on 3rd and 4th December. The former World Superbike champion of 2004 and 2007 will also have his current Yahama YZR-M1Moto GP machine on display alongside the similar bike of eight times world champion Valentino Rossi.
One of the all time GP heroes Randy Mamola will appear at the show as one of the ‘legends’ of motorcycle racing lined up for 6th December. The American star finished on the podium no less than 57 times in his GP career despite his fondness for spectacular accidents! Mamola will be joined by British legends Carl Fogarty and ‘Rocket’ Ron Haslam, the latter will also be on hand to sign copies of his new book on 29th November, alongside his son Leon Haslam.
Representing the 125GP category wil be the youngest ever GP winner Scott Redding, who created Moto GP news at his home track at Donington Park when he crossed the line first at just fifteen years old. The BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year finalist will be joined by fellow Brits from the 125GP class, Bradley Smith and Danny Webb.
The Italian racer Marco Melandri winner of twenty two GP’s, will make a rare UK appearance at the show on it’s final day.
The GP stars will be joined by a plethora of riders from World Superbike, British Superbike and the Isle of Man TT, throughout the event.
