This weekend, sees the start of the Moto GP World Championship at the Losail Circuit in Qatar with the very first night race.
The Kawasaki Team are ready and waiting with their updated Ninja ZX-RR and new rider. John Hopkins will be racing on the 800cc Ninja for the first time although he is still in some discomfort following his crash at Phillip Island last month. He suffered muscle damage to his groin but is said to be making a rapid recovery and is sure he will be fully fit for Sunday’s race.
The second rider Anthony West has made great progress on his updated machine but still has doubts about what the cold conditions may have on his Bridgestone tyres. Last week, West was one of the riders who crashed during testing for the night race due to the temperatures plummeting as the evening progressed lessening the grip on the track.
The Kawasaki Team are overall optimistic and looking forward to the opening round of the Moto GP series. The first practice session will be on Friday at 19.00 hours local time while the actual race will be on Sunday night, starting at 23.00 local time.
