Casey Stoner took pole position today on the Ducati Marlboro, ahead of tomorrows race, followed by Dani Pedrosa on the Honda and Valentino Rossi on the Fiat Yamaha to complete the front row.

The American Nicky Hayden is in fourth place on the Honda followed by LCR Honda rider Randy de Puniet and Yamaha rider Colin Edwards in sixth.

John Hopkins suffered an horrendous accident in qualifying, when he hit the barriers at high speed.
