Rossi agrees deal on tax

Joy Ryder - Wednesday 13.02.08, 09:51am

Former World Champion Valentino Rossi has come to an agreement with the Italian tax authorities, following an investigation into alleged tax evasion.

Rossi has agreed to pay 19 million euros which covers the tax years 2001 to 2004, possibly rising up to 35 million when his earnings for 2005/6 are considered.

The seven time world champion says he is happy with how it has worked out, and now he can concentrate on his work. He has also said that he will be leaving London and returning to Italy, “I could not return if I had problems with the Italian tax authorities.” and added “I’ve come to an agreement with the tax agency that allows me to return calm and ready ahead of the new season.”
