British 125cc MotoGP rider Scott Redding, has been shortlisted after being nominated for the BBC Young Sports Personality Of The Year.
The Rookie of the year rider, made history this season after winning at his home track at Donington Park at the age of 15-years and 170 days, making him the youngest ever Grand Prix winner.
The awards are presented at a gala ceremony each year, and for the 2008 season, he will be up against some of the top sports competitors in Britain.
The nominee’s have to be 16-years-old or younger by on the 1st January to be eligible, they are then decided by a selection of judges after being nominated by the public.
Now that the personalities have been shortlisted, the judges will select a top three on November 24th, with the winner being announced live on the televised show on 14th December.
Redding has been confirmed to continue with the Blusens Aprilia for 2009 with the promise of an improved machine.
