The MotoGP youngest ever race winner passed his motorcycle CBT test yesterday on his sixteenth birthday. The British rider first became the youngest rider ever to qualify on the front row of the grid at the opening Qatar round of 2008 while also braking the GP lap record at just 15-years-of-age.
He went onto make history by being the youngest ever winner in the 125cc class at the British Grand Prix and looks to be a serious contender as a talented MotoGP rider.
He took his test at his home town in Gloucester and said to the BBC,
“It’s a whole different ball game from the road to the circuit. On the road you’ve got to be so much more careful because there’s other people driving and riding. It’s not like you’re all going the same way. You’ve got oncoming traffic, you’ve got traffic lights to contend with, not just going in a circle.”
