It was the first time of night testing for the 125cc Moto GP riders at the Losail circuit in Qatar and Sergio Gadea set the pace on his Aspar Aprilia in a time of 2:05.982. The 23 year old Spaniard is one of the hot favourites for the 2008 season.
The Ajo Derbi rider, Mike di Meglio was in second places but he was three-tenths of a second behind with the British rider, Danny Webb on the de Gaffe Aprilia close on his tail.
Nico Terol was in fourth place on the Fontana Aprilia with another British hope Bradley Smith in fifth on the Polaris World-run example behind him.
Amazingly in sixth place was the 15 year old British rookie, Scott Redding who out-paced Gabor Talmacsi, the defending World Champion by two tenths of a second.
In Eighth place was Raffaela de Rosa on the Scot KTM with Simon Corsi on the second Fontana Aprilia in ninth and Stefan Bradl on the Kiefer Apilia finishing off the top ten riders.
