Dani Pedrosa on the Repsol Honda took the victory at his home track today after passing Casey Stoner at the beginning of the first lap.
Andrea Dovizioso on the Honda Scot was in third place as Rossi started to move his way through the pack after a terrible start.
Stoner went wide on lap seven leaving a gap for Dovizioso to squeeze through and make his move into second place. He didn’t keep it for long as Rossi took him on the next lap putting him back to third.
Alex de Angelis on the San Carlo Honda, crashed out on lap ten along with Loris Capirossi on the Rizla Suzuki. Randy de Puniet’s bike developed a problem on the next lap which meant another retirement for him.
As the commentator on Eurosport said “Pedrosa’s lead is becoming rediculous now. He really should slow-up and let the others catch him for the sake of entertainment.”
He went on to say with eight lap to go “Finally, signs that Pedrosa’s lead is falling. With almost eight seconds in hand, however, he could probably afford to stop for a pint of milk and the Sunday newspaper and still win the race.”
Pedrosa takes the win ahead of Rossi and Stoner, and a great result for Dovizioso taking fourth place. Colin Edwards finished in fifth place ahead of James Toseland in sixth.
