A week before the MotoGP rider Valentino Rossi is to begin testing in Malaysia, he is instead nursing his injured foot and hand after an accident at his home.
The Yamaha rider tripped while drawing the curtains in his home in Italy, causing him to fall onto a glass table, cutting the sole of his left foot and the ring finger on his left hand.
His injuries have been stitched and he is expected to continue as planned by flying to Malaysia and attempt testing on Thursday.
The team have released a statement saying,
“The injuries are not serious but it is not yet clear whether or not they will make him uncomfortable when riding this week.
Nevertheless Rossi will fly out to Malaysia today as planned, where he will try to give 100% at the first test of the season, which starts of Thursday.”
